The German Crude Oil Museum Wietze offers lots of interesting information

A museum at an place that is rich in history.

One of the world's first crude oil finds drills happened in Wietze in 1858.

Around 1910 at the time of the crude oil boom Wietze delivered around 80% of the German crude oil production.
More than 2.000 oil rigs rose up to the sky.

So it's not surprising that Wietze had the by-name 'Little Texas' then.

With the help of historical equipment and machines we demonstrate the origin of crude oil and gas and how it was produced and processed then and still is today.
