In the year 1966 a document house
with an exhibition about the history
of the camp Bergen-Belsen opened.

This document house
extended and recreated
in spring 1990.

But only in the last two centuries could the complex history of this place as prisoners-of-war- camp, concentration camp and displaced persons camp be researched in detail. The findings are being presented in a permanent exhibition in the newly constructed documentation centre since 2007.
